Procedures on Dog Fouling:

Following a complaint from a resident, the Enforcement Officer will visit the area.
I f the complainant has given their name and address then they will be visited to find out more information with regards to the complaint.
The Enforcement Officer will check the area for the presence of Council signs, which highlight the penalty i.e. £2500
If the Enforcement Officer witnesses a dog fouling in a public place, the owner, if known, will be liable to a £50 Fixed Penalty Fine and/or possible prosecution.
Where a member of the public is reluctant to give a written statement, a warning/advisory letter can be sent to the offender.
