Responsible ownership of your dog

Some simple things to try

  1. Train your dog. A well trained dog should be able to tell between people allowed into the house and intruders.
  2. Some dogs bark because they want to join in outside. If this is the problem, try leaving your dog so he can't see outside.
  3. Feed and exercise your dog before you go out and leave him some fresh water.
  4. Make sure his bed is comfortable and leave his favoyurite toys.
  5. Check that the room is not too hot or too cold. If you keep your dog outside, think carefully where you put his kennel. Try not to put it near your neighbour's fence or where your dog will be tempted to bark. Sometimes your dog will bark because he is ill and anxiety is often the cause. Take you dog to the vet.
