A new Masterplan is being prepared for Cookstown Town Centre. The new Masterplan will provide the basis for future decision making on the promotion, implementation and timing of future urban regeneration and town centre management initiatives over the next 10-15 years.
A six week public consultation on the Masterplan proposals took place from Tuesday 31 May 2011 - Friday 15 July 2011. This project is funded by the Department for Social Development.
The Department for Social Development's Urban Development Grants scheme is currently open for applications. See below for more information:
The strength of Cookstown’s retail offer continues to be communicated to a wide audience through the Cookstown brand identity, ‘Cookstown Looking Good, Looking Great’, reinforcing its status as the ‘Retail Capital of Mid-Ulster’.
The marketing and promotional campaign for 2011 commenced with a strong printed media campaign to promote ‘Shop Local’ in the January sales and ‘Shop Cookstown’ for that perfect Valentines and Mothers Day gift. This printed campaign will be developed and enhanced at key retail periods throughout 2011, including Easter and Christmas.
Cookstown Town Centre possesses a distinctive layout for the delivery of high profile events, with the potential to greatly increase the number of visitors to the town centre, which in turn will result in positive benefits to local businesses and traders.
