What is Shopmobility?
Shopmobility is a scheme which lends powered scooters and manual wheelchairs, to members of the public with limited mobility to shop and visit leisure and commercial facilities within Cookstown. It is located at the Burnavon Arts and Cultural Centre, Burn Road, Cookstown, BT80 8DN.
Who Can Use Shopmobility?
Why is Shopmobility Necessary?
It can be difficult to access different shops if you have limited mobility. Shopmobility schemes actively encourage inclusion and equality by providing wheelchairs and power scooters for people to use them.
With Shopmobility you can continue to access your local centre either independently, or with family and friends.
How Much Does it Cost?
The equipment is FREE to use on a daily basis. If equipment is required overnight then there is a small charge. All users are protected by our comprehensive insurance cover.
How to join?
Becoming a member of Shopmobility is easy and necessary to ensure that you are fully covered with our Insurance. It is free to join. To become a member, all you need to do is complete an application form and provide proof of ID and address. A member of staff will help you with training on how to use the scooter for the first time and ensure you feel confident. Then you are free to ride!
