Street Cleansing
The Street Cleansing team undertake a variety of roles in keeping Cookstown District tidy. These include:
Daily cleaning of Cookstown town centre including the emptying of all litter bins, and the daily cleaning of large village centres such as Moneymore, Coagh, Pomeroy and Stewartstown (with the exception of Saturday).
- Small village centres like Tullyhogue and Ballyronan are cleaned twice a week.
- All housing estates within the Cookstown District are also cleaned and closely monitored for litter scavenges.
A twice weekly litter scavenge of all major approach roads to Cookstown and special clean ups as and when required, particularly in the case of special approved events, ensures that Cookstown District remains tidy and pleasing to the eye.
