Arts and Culture
Arts & Culture Objectives
The Arts and Cultural Development Plan is for everyone who has a stake in the well being and development of those who live in, work in or visit Cookstown. It is the plan’s purpose to involve people collectively as creators, audiences or participants in a programme that is visible and beneficial to, and accessible by all the residents and visitors to our district. A vibrant Arts and Cultural Development programme will:
- Provide enjoyment and a universal “feel good” factor
- Draw communities together
- Build confidence in individuals and among groups
- Instill a sense of pride
- Contribute to the economy
- Enhance Tourism
The programme will be a combination of centre based activity focused on the Burnavon Arts and Cultural Centre and an outreach programme which will engage people throughout the community in their normal meeting place or other suitable venues.
