The objective of Cookstown District Council's Community Services Unit is to support our local community, for example in accessing funding and promoting a healthier, safer, more community-orientated environment.

CDC Community Services Unit operates an open door policy so that everyone in the District (groups, businesses, farmers and individuals) can readily access support or advice or help to avail of funding opportunities.

Cookstown District Council is the lead actor in a £20.5million Rural Development Programme delivered via South West Action for Rural Development (SWARD).  This programme covers the 4 Council Districts of Cookstown, Dungannon, Magherafelt and Fermanagh.  Information on this programme can be accessed at www.sward.org.uk or contact Cookstown's rural development support team in Gortalowry House.

Community Services Unit also has responsibility for overseeing Cookstown District Council's role in the same 4 Council cluster's Peace III Partnership (£3.4million) Programme.  Information and support can be obtained from the Peace III support team in Gortalowry House.

In addition, Community Services Unit oversees Community Safety Partnership, Good Relations, Community Festivals and Community/Voluntary and Local Community Fund Programmes.  Information can be accessed via the relevant links.

Grant-tracker is available.  This is a database outlining the availability and eligibility criteria for possible funding packages and deadlines for applications to be submitted.  Community Services staff are always ready and willing to assist clients who wish to make bids for funding from a wide range of sources.
