The Cookstown Local Strategy Partnership, (LSP) has 18 members. The social partners include 2 trade union, 1 farming, 2 business and 3 community and voluntary representatives.The local government and statutory sectors include 5 local councillors and 5 representatives from Statutory Agencies: one each from Invest NI, Homefirst Community Health & Social Services Trust, Southern Education & Library Board and 2 from the Cookstown District Council.
The full Board meets monthly and work is divided between 2 Committees of which each director is a member:
Action Plan CommitteeThis Committee is responsible for developing the LSP's Action Plan, assessment of applications and operational functions.
Strategy CommitteeThis Committee is responsible for strategic issues such as consultations, developing and managing the programme. They also progress the Community Plan and look for other funding opportunities.
Cookstown Local Strategy Partnership administers Peace II funding of £1.3m. This funding has been fully committed to various projects within Cookstown District Council area. Under Peace II Extension Cookstown Local Strategy Partnership administers funding of £400,000. This will fund strategic interventions under Priority 3.1.
As with Peace I & Peace II, some of the programmes will go out to public call for applications and some wll be delivered by agencies who have tendered for the work. All will be advertised in the local press in order to ensure that the delivery of Peace II Extension funding is effective and transparent as possible.
Cookstown LSP recognises that many groups will find the application process and forms difficult and complex. Cookstown LSP can assist through the provision of practical support and information to any group wishing to make an application to us or any other body.
